Our pc is a family pc it is used by 4 users. 2 have
administrator rights the other 2 are basic user
accounts. On the basic user accounts there is an
annoying procedure that happens on their start up page.
A programme called activsurf pops up and you have to go
through the process of fully opening it to close it
down. We choose the option (check box) of 'don't show
this at next start up' (or words similar to this effect)
but this has no effect. It cannot be removed in the
add/remove programmes it is not listed. It is located in
C documentsettings/allusers/startmenu/programmes/internet
& communication. A search of all files and folders shows
there is a folder in C/apps also. I have looked at start
up but cannot see it located in the list of items, so I
am unable to remove it. Any suggestions?

Christine,

Run Smart Restore (toolkit in the start menu programs I think). Click
Activsurf in the smart restore menu twice so that instead of a green tick it
shows a red cross next to it then click OK on the main smart restore window
and just follow the prompts.
