Hello,

I recently switched of my Messenger facility (i.e. no
icon in system tray). Can someone tell me how to switch
it back on please ?

Greetings Colin,

Assuming you mean Windows Messenger, just click Start, then Run, type "msmsgs" and click OK.
You can then set the options for it to automatically start or similar by clicking the Tools
menu, then Options, then Preferences tab.

Depending on how you disabled it, some options may be missing -- to fix this, simply
re-install it:
