I want to put a password on some of my folders so only
certain users can access the files contained within. Is
there a way to set this up on my computer? I know that
the files have that option, but I would like to apply it
at the folder level.

Thank you
Tim

Hey Tim,

Yes that is possible, if you have a NTFS file system. Be sure to disable
"Use Simple File Sharing" off in the Folder Options. Then use Windows
Explorer to navigate to the folder in question, and right click to select
properties, go to Sharing and Security to set your permissions. If you'd
want these permissions propogated through the subfolders and files, you have
the option of choosing that as well.

You can't set a password to a folder in XP, you would need a 3rd party
program to do that.
