Hi,

I just purchased a new HP Pavillion 520n, and I noticed that there's
alot of software pre-installed that I will never register or use. I
would like to uninstall this software, but don't see any entries under
the Add/Remove Software (ie. Norton AntiVirus, Office XP Trial, etc).

Does anyone now how can I safely go about trimming my desktop without
removing these things manually from the file browser?

Thanks for helping out,
Joe

I tried that already. Problem with that is, there's no drivers for
the Onboard audio and video. The video was no problem, but I couldn't
get the audio to work properly. Also there's alot of connections for
digital camera's on the front of this and those drivers get lost too.

THEN when I went to the Windows Update Manager, NO UPDATES WOULD
INSTALL!!! WTF??

So I restored from the Restore disk, and am trying again

Items on the Desktop should be shortcuts and can just be deleted. Be sure
by checking Properties if there is no curved arrow on the icon.

As to the actual programs... Watch for other replies before doing this.
I just deleted the unwanted trial programs. Problem is, everything related
to them may not be removed. Also make sure other applications aren't
dependent on it/them, which may mean you have to buy.
