install XP over MS Professional 2000?

On my IBM thinkpad I am trying to install MS/XP over my
MS/Professional 2000. I'm getting an error when it comes
to identifying partitions and installing over the MS2000
partition. It won't let me do it. Saying it needs temp
files from that partition. Is this a known problem? How
can install the XP over the top of 2000?

You didn't state which version of XP you have. To upgrade 2000 Pro you must
use XP Pro, Home won't work as an upgrade.
