View Full Version : restore and Outlook

I recently had to do a "restore" to an earlier restore
point. When I next opened Outlook, it started as for the
first time. After proceeding with the "install" I
discovered all my previous emails were gone - inbox, sent,
contacts etc. Is there any way to recover these emails? I
searched for *.pst files, but all the ones I found seemed
to be the newly created ones. Will an "undo" of the
restore recover these emails? Please give me hope that in
solving one problem I haven't created a bigger one. Thanks
for any advice (or sympathy) you can offer.

I'm not doubting that *something* happened to your PST but System Restore
did not bang them out of existence. It only monitors certain file types
residing in certain folders and PST is not one of those file types.

Run your search again but first set Folder Options | View in Windows
Explorer to show hidden files. If you need further assistance with this,
seek out the Outlook newsgroups where the Outlook gurus hang out. Be sure to
tell them what version of Outlook you are using.
