My box (new):
-Dell Dimension 4600 P4 2.4GHz/533MHz FSB
-64MB GeForce4 MX 420 w
-Windows XP Home SP 1 (Fresh new install, not the OEM load)
-Envision 15" LCD (known to not have any issues or problems)
My issue:
About every 45 minutes (basically very randomly) my LCD flashes like
it totally lost the signal. It lasts close to a second before the
video comes back. It can happen while I'm typing an email, browsing,
writing code- doesn't appear tied to anything in specific.
I saw a thread back in January where other folks were having this
issue but with no resolution. I can't imagine what is causing it- the
event log is clean, the proper video drivers are installed and all
power management stuff is disabled. This happens so sporadically that
it is almost impossible to troubleshoot. My only hope is potentially
your suggestions or knowledge of this issue.
