sounds

OK, recently did a fresh install of XP Home.
Everything is fine except for the log on and log off sounds. They
disappeared after a few days. I DL'd "Kellys" script for this type of
issue, however, I still have no log on or off sounds.
What the hay am I missing here anyway?

Any info would be appreciated.

Sorry, but I should have stated that it is the "start windows and exit
windows" sound.
All other sounds seem to work.
I am using the default windows sound scheme.
