Hello

Well the process is controlled by your BIos and so you will
need to have it connected., if not connected your system
will give you an error message and that is before the OS
starts, so you will need it

Is there any BIOS setting you can change so it will not stop on any errors?

Greetings --

You'll have to find a motherboard manufacturer who has designed a
motherboard with such capabilities. I doubt you'll find one. Also,
just for your information, plugging a PS/2 keyboard in while power is
applied will, in my experience, cause severe damage to the motherboard
roughly 10% of the time.
