I used Asr to restore a laptop with a bad drive. After
the restore it goes into a boot loop. Keeps rebooting
after displaying an error abour lass.exe cannot update
password. Have tried using recovery, but it wont take the
password that was on the computer when it was backed up.

One correction - he is having the same problem symptoms (reboots and mention of Lsass.exe) but he never (at least not knowingly) did anything with ASR.

My brother is having the exact same problem as described by Bruce. He is getting error (1073741819) and there is a KB article that suggests downloading the Win2K service pack 4 but he is on WinXP Pro SP1 so this is not really an option. He says t
hat the problem only occurs when he boots Outlook.

Any suggestions would be wonderful!
