View Full Version : XP Font question, anybody??

James D
April 30th 04, 02:36 AM
Question about the ability to see fonts in Windows XP (My OS). I have many
different fonts installed, but it seems as though alot of them appear to be
just you basic run of the mill fonts. I even purchased a CD with a couple
thousand fonts and some of those appear as regular fonts too. It seems to me
that MANY of these fonts look WAY too much like each other.

Is there something is Windows that could have gotten out of whack?

Since this group is very busy (over 1000 msgs daily) postings will
quickly scroll off the board unless you stay active and download
several times per day or opt to download every message you haven't
read previously.

If I have them marked as "watched" isn't that good enough? Guess I'm not
familiar with how do change the amount of headers downloaded, but I can see
most back one week (which is where my messages and replies were).

If I have them marked as "watched" isn't that good enough? Guess I'm not
familiar with how do change the amount of headers downloaded, but I can see
most back one week (which is where my messages and replies were).

Hi James:

That should have done it. I don't use OE (have been an Agent user for
years) but one thing OE does well (the few times I have used it) is
keep a good run of past messages. The problem, however, is with a
busy group such as this one, messages quickly scroll off the message
server.

You can try to search out replies that you missed by doing an inquiry
at Google Groups: http://groups.google.com/. Also there is the
possibility that your replies and messages did not make it to the
server due to a problem with your ISP. I like to go directly to the
MS server: msnews.microsoft.com You can setup OE to go directly
to the MS server instead of your ISP's server if you haven't already
done that.

I like to go directly to the
MS server: msnews.microsoft.com You can setup OE to go directly
to the MS server instead of your ISP's server if you haven't already
done that.

If I have them marked as "watched" isn't that good enough? Guess I'm not
familiar with how do change the amount of headers downloaded, but I can see
most back one week (which is where my messages and replies were).
