I was told all documents in WordPerfect v9 would have to be RECREATED and
would not open in Windows XP. Can anyone tell me if that is true?

Thanks!

You need to have WordPerfect or a program capable of reading WordPerfect
files installed.

It's completely false. You need a copy of WordPerfect to open
them of course (or any other program that can read the
WordPerfect format), but there's nothing in Windows XP that
prevents their use. I use WordPerfect files all the time.
