i ran chkdsk and it reports an errors:
"Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap.
Windows found problems with the file system.
Run CHKDSK with the/F (fix) option to correct these"
I ran chkdsk /F and I still get the same error msg.
I've run it 3 times with the same results.
Is there really an error in the file system?
tks

Definately, if chkdsk does not work, then I suggest a backup, reformat
and restore approach.

A shot in the dark. Are you answering the question correctly.
Type chkdsk /f it will ask if you want to check on the next
boot. Y, then reboot the machine. chkdsk will only work
in console mode.
