cd drive problem

Thank you for the suggestion, Eric. I'll try the recovery
cd to see if it works. I had this computer for only 2
weeks and when I put in the software cds that came with
the computer, the cd light comes on, but the cd doen't
run.

If you want to use the CD, you'll have to boot from it. Insert the CD in
your CD-ROM drive and reboot your computer. If you don't see something
like: "Press any key to boot from CD" you'll have to reboot again while
pressing a couple of time on ESC at the very beginning of the booting
sequence of your computer to allow you to select the boot method you want to
use. You'll have a litlle menu asking you to select your booting method:
The option should be: CD-ROM (or the name and model of it) , Hard Disk,
Floppy, SCSI, LAN. You will have to choose the CD-ROM option.
