My problem is, I have just bought a G732 Laptop, and I
wanted to put another IDE 3.5" h/d connected through the
usb 2 port onto to it. It is a Diamondmax 740 something
or another, anyway its got 80 gigabyte storage space on
it. It's never been formatted, brand new. I put it
into one of those converter boxes, and wired it up to
through the box to the laptop. Fine! It has its own
power supply, and it activated the necessary drivers in
XP and it shows up on hardware/device manager as working
properly. BUT, it will not show up on the My Computer,
nor will it show up in Computer Management/Disk
Management, so I can't format it to use it. The computer
knows it's there, because the lights on the box go on and
change from amber to green and back again it just is not
showing up on the screen. I have checked drivers
installations-USB hub and everything like that-I am at a
loss to know what to do next, I just can't make the
Diamondmax disk format. I would appreciate any help
from anyone out there. Thank you for reading this.
