View Full Version : XP Home on Compaq 5062: use Win98 KB drivers ?

I recently installed XP Home on my mom's Compaq Presario 5062. Now the
keyboard with all of the internet buttons and sound control (volume) only
works as a regular keyboard. I only really want to get her the sounds
controls back, anything else is "icing on the cake".
Should I just download the old KB driver for Win98 and install? In Win95
Compatibility mode?
Thanks for any help!

No, the driver won't work and Compaq isn't offering XP drivers for keyboards (
own a 7ap195). If you love your mom then buy her a new keyboard. New keyboards
are cheap and much nicer than that old Compaq.

Mom will be so happy.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The new keyboard is an idea I hadn't actually
thought of, though! Duuuh!?
Thanks for the info and suggestion!
