PASSWORD -- help!!

My son has an HP computer and he entered a password that
he has forgotten. The first screen that appears after
booting is one window asking for the password. How can I
bypass/change this so he can use his computer again?

This is the boot password, from the BIOS.
I'm not sure this can be bypassed.
I suggest calling HP. (or keep trying to remember)

If it is the BIOS password taking out the CMOS battery, keeping it out for a
while and putting it back in may clear it. Most m/b's have a "clear CMOS"
jumper if you can locate it.

Sounds like a BIOS password, if you arent computer hardware literate I would
definately call the vendor for assistance. They may be able to walk you
through draining the CMOS for the machine and getting the password out.
