View Full Version : Using two printing ports

My computer has only one parallel port for printing. I know how to
choose which printer to use from the printer drop-down menu, but I
would like to be able to switch back and forth from my B&W laser
printer to my color bubblejet printer without having to disconnect the
one and connect the other. Both printers use parallel ports. Is
there a way to add a parallel port or otherwise solve this problem? I
have a Gateway 2000, pentium processor and am running Windows 2000
build on NT Technology. Thanks.

If you have a spare slot in your computer, you can add a parallel
port card. SIIG makes a good dual parallel port card for ~$50, so
you could have 3 parallel ports.

How about using a simple parallel port A-B switch to connect both printers?

May not work with plug and play. The addition of a printer port is probably
the safest.
