did have to reactivate windows. The original product key
lets you instal windows but the wizard generates a new
activation/validation code for you to send on to
Microsoft to enable activation.
My system developed a further problem which required me
to ring the Microsoft Support Centre on 1800 642 533 to
allow activation. They were very helpful.
