It's been ages now, but when i first installed win xp pro i had the blue
folder bar running down the left hand side of the desktop much like you get
in win xp folders. Just wondering how i can get this back, looked everywhere
with no luck yet. It contained shortcuts to my comp, my doc's etc etc.
Cheers

Did you possibly have the desktop toolbar docked to the side of your
screen? Right click on the taskbar and select Toolbars, Desktop. That
will add the desktop toolbar to the taskbar. If the taskbar is locked,
unlock it by right clicking on the taskbar and making sure that "Lock the
Taskbar" is *not* checked. You can then drag the desktop toolbar from the
taskbar over to the left side of the screen to dock it there. You can
then right click on the desktop toolbar to control its appearance.

Visit my web site, www.dougknox.com and go to the Windows XP Fixes section.
Follow the link for Remove Common Tasks from Desktop. This small VB Script
utility will modify the System Registry to remove Common Tasks from your
Desktop.
