I know there is an easy way to do it, but I forgot. How do you rename
drives (HD, DVD, CD-RW, etc.) to different letters (c,d,e,f,...)???

Thanks

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: CHANGE DRIVE LETTER ,
and hit enter. Then click on "Assign, change, or remove a drive =
letter".

Ahoy the Pollock!

Disk Management. This MMC "snap-in" in Win2K and WinXP took over the job
from Device Manager. Quickest way to find it is to type at the Run line:
diskmgmt.msc

There's no easy way to change letters for the "system partition" (typically
C:) and the "boot volume" (usually also C:, but it could be anything - Disk
Management will identify it for you), but the others are easily changed. I
always suggest that CD/DVD drives be assigned letters far out in the
alphabet (M:, V:, etc.), leaving the early letters for HD volumes, but that
is a matter of personal preference.
