Garmin USB

Has anyone had problems loadind USB drivers for Garmin Streetpilot III. I have Acer laptop running XP Home. despite downloading Garmins updates and preinstall drivers etc. As soon as you try to install initial driver Pc doesa physical memory dump.. luckily
it recovers.. I also tried on another PC (work) running 2000 pro & the same thing happened. Garmin are no help (disspaointed Garmin !)
