CD-roms Don't Work

As you may already know from my subject, my CD-roms don't
work. I've opened up my computer and checked the proper
connections, but that has not solved the problem.
Problems: -CD-roms don't open.
-CD-rom drives aren't shown in "My Computer".
-CD-roms won't run any CDs previously placed inside my
CD-roms.
-Add Hardware Wizzard doesn't even pick up the CD-roms.

Possible Reasons: -A "D:\" was recently installed on my
computer and removed after certain files were copied from
it.
You may be able to tell that I don't usually use
these "Newsgroups", but they have been said to be useful.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you may
provide. Thank you.

Download this fix to fix missing Cd drives or drives with error 39
etc:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm. Download
the vbs
script file, double click it and click yes when prompted. You will
need to
reboot for the changes to take effect.
