XP Pro and modem

after transfering the hard drive to a new motherboard, and
it's up and running, I put in the modem and it causes a
rebot after detection. in a continious loop.

Try another PCI slot, if it does the same I would buy another, you might
want to stop it rebooting by going into Startup and Recovery and uncheck
Automatically restart so you can see what file is causing the reboots
