hardware:
msi 6330 motherbaord
duron 750
256mb pc100 ram
40 gb hdd
ati xpert 2000 32mb agp video card (rage 128)..
windows xp pro
my problem:
windows xp recognizes the video card on install,but the minute the computer
is shut off...for awhile...and restarted...xp wants to install a "vga
driver."Something about an cpu to agp vs vga communication conflict.
Imediate restarts are ok.
I've tried:
* more ram!
* download the latest VIA chipset drivers,the latest ati driver(xp's doesn't
support Open GL,they say.)...
* increase aperture to 128 mb....
...somehow last night...after doing the above...and this morning,after
booting in 640x480 and forcing 1024x.....,then rebooting...I got the ati
card back up......
...hmmm,I think I'll leave this #@4! machine on for a while!!!
Best solution...a Geforce2 ,or whatever card?
Is this a motherboard issue(my bro-in-law just gave me an Asus A7pro
board.,etc....I suppose that has issues,also)...?
Any body dealt iwth this,already?
