fax cover page option greyed out

We are using a shared fax printer on a server, but when we use the fax wizard to send a fax from a local machine, the "add a cover page" option is completely greyed out. The cover pages are also located on the server in a shared folder, but they just don't
seem to be available to the wizard. Any tips out there?
