I have WIN XP Pro on an HP omnibook laptop right clicking
on the task bar still brings up the dialog box but TASK
MANAGER option is greyed out even ctrl+alt+del still
brings up the options but the TASK MANAGER selection is
greyed out. Any ideas on a fix or some other way to
activate the TASK MANAGER function? There have been no
new modifications or downloads. It was there on monday
gone on tuesday. HELP!

Run a complete virus scan on your system, this behavior can be caused by a
virus. See the following website from MVP Kelly for all of these issues.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System
Look in the right pane for a value called DisableTaskMgr If it exists,
double click it and set it to 0 (zero). If it doesn't exist, right click in
the right pane and select New, DWord value. Name it DisableTaskMgr. Leave
it set at 0.
