Attaching any other USB device Activates my Zip Drive

Any logic to why this happens or is it just a funky driver from Iomega.

Whenever I attach another USB device, Camera, USB Card Reader, even my
Printer & Scanner. My external 750Mb Zip drive activates, it "whirls" and
seems to be accessing the disk. Even if a disk isn't inserted it appears to
wake up and whirl.

Any ideas on how to stop it from happening or is it just something to learn
to live with?
