adding a new cd writer

added a new cdwriter to my machine attached it to the IDE
one end has a DVD drive = master and the new cd writer as
a slave re booted machine detected the new hardware let
it find it and it instaslled asked to re boot on reboot
it tryed to detect it again and just goes around in
circles Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS no letter asigned to

Jumper the burner as master and place it on the black end of the cable.
Jumper the DVD-ROM as slave and place it on the grey connector in the
middle. Connect the remaining end to the secondary IDE channel on the
motherboard. Set the BIOS to Auto to configure your drives.
