So when i right click on my computer and go to
properties ... it still says i only have 256mb of sdram
so i am taking it as this new memory is not being
recognized because i added another 256 which should be
total 512??? i wish i knew how to tell if it were
working? should the 256 change to 512???

As far as I know that is correct,
As your machine boots you may be able to see a memory count being done, this
should confirm how much RAM you have.

You could download AIDA 32 from
http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32

This will tell you what memory you have where, and a lot more info.

me a great deal!!!! i do believe either i was sold the
wrong memory card or it is not being recognized by my
computer i downloaded that aida and it is only
recognizing the initial 256 so i am going to take it out
and put it back in and if that dont work then back to the
store i go LOL thanks for your help again!!!!
