Have recently upgraded to XP and am having problems
getting printer to work again , after re-connecting
printer and turning it on, it goes mad and prints about
10-15 pages of nonsense , have tried HP support they said
try refreshing USB port(its a parallel) and uninstalling
and reinstalling printer.......downloaded new driver from
HP site which works up to a point but occasionally I get
the message 'error 28 cannot create shortcut
C:\ProgramFiles\hpphotosmart\printer\hpacr.exe'

any help/advice gratefully received!!

Regards

Darth

1. The printer should be disconnected from the PC during the upgrade. The
drivers have probably now become corrupted and you need a total unisntall
and reinstall.

See:
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm
Step 4 is THE MOST important part.

2. You MUST be logged on as an Administrator or a User with Admin rights
when installing a printer.

You can download the new set of drivers for this printer from the HP website
at: http://tinyurl.com/esz3

Detailed installation instructions are at the HP website at:
http://tinyurl.com/iv22
