MY ASUS DVD DOES NOT GET DETECTED

After I Install Windows XP and load all the required files
from the Motherboard CD and restart my PC my DVD ROM does
not appear in my HARDWARE list nor in MY COMPUTER.
PLEASE HELP ME

Did you install the drivers that came with your DVD drive? Or, better yet,
go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest version directly
from there.
