Hi ... I upgraded my notebook from Windows 2000 Pro to Windows XP Pro and
now, even though I can dialup and connect to my ISP, I can't actually browse
or access my email account. I can ping an IP address but can't ping a URL.
When I try to browse the web (via IE), it pops up a window that says IE
couldn't open the search page and the main window says the page cannot be
displayed.

Guidance please?? Thanks.

....Jane

Try:
Control Panel>Internet Options
Advanced Tab
Under Security section, check: SSL2.0, SSL 3.0

Try if it works.
You should re-start first.

Ran sfc /scannow and no change. Everything is default because I haven't set
anything. Any other thoughts?
