trying to setup new system with XP Pro, but xp pro does
not recognise 250g, tells me I only have 130gig available.
system and H/d are brand new, first time setup for hardisk
Can any one tell me how I overcome XP's refuseal to
recognise 250 gig

Does the system BIOS recognise the full 250Gb? If not you'll need a BIOS
update from the manufacturers website.
You'll also need to install Service Pack 1 to see the full disk capacity if
it's not included on the XP install CD you have already.
If you're trying to install XP onto this drive that may cause a problem for
obvious reasons. There are ways around it however.
You could install on a partition and then, after installing SP1, expand the
partition using a third-party application like Partition Magic.
Or you could create a new bootable CD slipstreamed to include Service Pack 1
for the initial installation.
