windows XP bootup problem

Hi
this is venkat...i have win Xp profession original version which was
pre installed when manuf gave it to me......when i was working with it
suddenly power went off....when i switched it back.....windows xp
couldnt load instead it said unmountable _disk_volume......i put a
msdos boot floppy but it couldnot recognise any drives...i tried with
windows xp floppy boot disk given in microsoft website but it didnt
work.....whether my hard disk failed or it got corrupted
