OK, i really need help with this. I have that damn blue
screen (not of death) that says unmountable boot. I have
already run the recovery and did a chkdsk /p and a
chkdsk /r, as well as a fixboot...and all of those
resulted in the same scree: UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME. I
know my hard driveisnt friend, becasue it worked a couple
days ago, i think it got hit too hard by my movers (damn
movers!). I appreciate any help on this matter, as i
need to recover those files (without deleteing anything
from the hard drive...thanks

Smitty;
Power off, open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
If that fails:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=297185
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315403

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
