View Full Version : Strange and itrritating dial-up question

I posted this on the Outlook groups and to a mailing list, but to date
no-one seems to have a solution, so I thought that I'd try the Windows XP
groups incase someone here might be able to help!
I have two dial-up connectoids set up. One is marked as default, and that is
the one that IE6 and OE6 ( Outlook newsreader mode) and any other
application that accesses the internet, dial up automatically. I have two
Internet accounts set-up in outlook, both set to use dialler (and I've tried
all combinations in the "connections" box that there are) in the
connections box. When I open outlook and click on Send and Receive however,
outlook does NOT dial up with the default connection, but the other one!
There is NO MENTION anywhere in the Outlook options boxes of the other
dial-up! How can I stop this annoying action without deleting the other
connectoid?

rifleman,
Go to the dial up connection via Start > Settings > Network Connections,
right click on the connection desired as default and set it as default.
Hope this helps.

rifleman,
If the one is marked as default then remove the dial up that should not be
default, reboot, ensure after reboot the remaining dial up is default, use
Outlook Express, IE, etc... so that connection gets used, reboot and then
add the other connection.

Go into the connection tab on the email account, and set it to use the
connection. Then go into connection tab in outlook express and make sure the
box is checked to ask before switching connections.
