Registering XP after replacing the hard drive

I am replacing the hard drive in my notebook and want to
know how to handle the registration of XP? I would like
to keep the original hard drive as an emergency backup.

No problem. Since the old drive is no longer active there is no
problem with re-activating Windows in the new installation. You may
only run in problems when you add the old drive to another computer
and use both installations.
