System Information has been known to give incorrect figures for RAM in
some instances.

Open Control Panel - System. What is shown for the RAM figure at the
bottom of the General tab?

If that shows 384 mb then use Start - Run - MSCONFIG. Go to the
BOOT.INI tab and click on the Advanced Options button. Make sure the
checkbox for the /MAXMEM line is not selected. If it is click on it
to clear it.

Good luck
