CD/RW

I have a Samsung CD/RW in a Pavilian 8870. The original
op system was ME & I upgraded to XP last year.

I can open files on a CD but when I try to wright to a
disc I get a msg, that I need to put in a disc. I have
tried 3 different brads of CD but nothing works.

The CD burner did work for a while after the upgrade.

Br,

Are you using the built in burning software with XP or software that came
with your HP. Many burning programs that worked with ME will not work with
XP.

To learn how to burn with XP, click Start and click Help and Support and
type Burning in the search windows. You will find several articles included
with XP on this subject.
