I made an uninformed decision and bought the upgrade for
WinXP Home from a retail store. It cost me $99 and now
find out I should have bought the WinXP Pro upgrade. Is
there an upgrade available from WinXP Home to WinXP Pro?
Also, my daughter's laptop would only come with WinXP Home
installed on it. Can I upgrade it to WinXP Pro?

Thanks,

Doug

Yes, but it's the same XP Professional Upgrade that you say you
should have bought in the first place. Despite its not saying so
on the package, this is a supported upgrade path. There's no
special upgrade for this purpose.

Yes, you can buy another copy of that same upgrade.

Are you sure that both of you need XP Professional? Most home
users don't. What extra feature of Professional do you need?
