I'm having a problem with my firewire drive not being
detected. I've had this drive for awhile and it is still
functional (tried it on a ME system and it worked fine),
but one day while transferring files to the drive it
suddenly disappeared. The only recognition I can get is
an icon with a red question mark on it and when click on
it I get the following: "F:/ refers to a location that is
unavailable. It could be on hard drive on this computer
or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk drive
is properly inserted or that you are connected to the
internet or network and then try again. If it still
cannot be located the information might have been moved
to a different location."

Since I know that the drive works it seems like something
with Windows XP has gone awry. It also is not the 1394
card because I was able to test it's functionality via
other means. I'm really at a loss here since Maxtor has
stopped providing support once they found out the drive
functions on another computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
