Help!!! my Xp icons have dissappeared

Hi can you help
recently i tried downloading some classic games
but Xp couldn't recognise a program for it. So i tried to
find one for it by right clicking on the bare icon and
using the file types tab to find it but unfortunately now
all my icons have the bare icon except for internet
explorer and my computer and i cant retrieve any of them.
