I had my acer cdrw 20x10x40 drive long before I installed
XP on my desktop. I have burned lots of music cd's. I
tried to copy some files to my e: drive (the acer cdrw)
and each time I get to the point of "write these files to
cd" the CD Writing Wizard spits out a message screen
about "there is no disc in the drive". My cd's are good.
I can use them at work on a Windows 2k with Easy CD
Creator. They are Maxell CD-R 700MB 40X cd's.

What's up!

Were these CDs formatted for packet writing. If yes, XP won't see them as
XP software is designed for mastering only. You can't drag and drop or save
directly to CD using XP's integrated burning function. You can only master
and the CDs must not be formatted.
