You're almost certainly going to have to reinstall XP
because of the substantial changes in chipsets OnBoard
IDE Controller, etc. The motherboard drivers already
installed in XP in your current setup are the problem.
Unlike previous versions of Windows, XP won't
automatically update those drivers. It just chokes. I
understand there is a procedure somewhere on the MS Site
that may help, but probably won't.
