XP recognizes the slave(2nd)HD, and can populate it (HD
properties), but will no longer recognize the data. It is
f'matted w/ FAT32. I can access data with a w98 startup
disk. Installing it in other w98 machines, I can
manipulate the data on the drive. Even a fresh install of
XP didn't rectify the situation.
Master drive is NTFS, slave is FAT32.
Why won't XP recognize the FAT32 data?
Thanks for any ideas...

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, double click Administrative Tools,
double click Computer Management, single click Disk Management. Click
Action menu, click Rescan Disks. If this does not make the drive
accessible, go to the drive list in the lower right part of the window and
find the drive in question. Right click on the drive. Click on reactivate
missing disk.
Windows Computer management has a good help system. Click help, help
topics, index. Type disks and then scroll to troubleshooting. Click
display ant then troubleshooting and display again. Look at all the
information in the right column by clicking the + next to each topic.
