I just bought a Compaq Presario 1200US (used) with Windows XP Pro. When I
try to play any video files or DVD's all I get is a pink screen. The sound
(and sound files) are ok. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Craig

Unplug the monitor cable that goes to the computer and make sure no pins are
bent. Some will be missing. The monitor could also be bad, but that usually
results in a red, green or blue screen. Could also reseat the video card as
last resort.

The Compaq is a laptop. There is no monitor cable.
