Hi

I have installed my panasonic NV - DS65 camcorder and
when i am trying to capture the video from it via movie
maker or ulead videostudio, the video is sluggish. I have
tried changing the frame size, quality, etc, but to no
avail. It is as if the USB cannot handle the rate the
camcorder is sending through the usb. I am getting around
60% - 70% frame drop.
I am new to this and have heard about viseo capture
cards. Is this required to sort out my problem, or is
there any changes i can make in XP to enhance the USB
connection i am currently using ?

Please help!!!!

Thanks Mark

I am assuming the camera is a digital camera. Are you using USB 2.0 or USB
1.1 to capture the video? USB 1.1 just doesn't have the speed to capture
even poor image quality. USB 2.0 is better but still not able to do an
outstanding job. If your camera has IEEE1394 (firewire) you should use this
to do the capture. If the computer doesn't have this feature you could
purchase a Firewire card at your local computer supply outlet.

Make sure you have plenty of hard drive space and defragment your drive
before capturing video. How much memory is in the computer and the speed of
the computer? Both of these affect the effectiveness of the download.
