When I go into the System Tools I have not "Backup"
option. I would like to back my system up but cannot
figure out how. I am so not a computer whiz. Has anyone
else experienced this problem? Thanks for any help you
might be able to offer.

Do you have XP Home? Backup is installed by default in XP
Professional, but for some reason, not in XP Home.

But if you have a complete XP Home installation CD, you can find
it and install it yourself. It's in \ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP

Others have answered your question about no Backup program being installed.
However if you do how XP Home you should be aware of the limitations of the
Backup program once you do install it.
Firstly it will not backup directly to a CD Burner with a work-around such
as one of these http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/saving_files_to_cd.htm

But perhaps more importantly the Backup program that installs on XP Home
will not complete an Automated System Recovery, or ASR. You can't use it to
do a full system backup. You are better off looking into purchasing one of
the third party software applications that can easily backup your system to
CD's. Backup MyPC from Stompinc, Norton Ghost 2003, Powerquest Drive Image
2002 or terabytesunlimted's Image are popular programs for doing this..
