I have a ? mark on my PCI simple communications
controller. I tried ti install device driver- but it says
cannot find device driver code 28. Can you help me here
to fix this.

It means it cannot recognize what the device is. A PCI Simple
Communications Controller can be:

a modem
a gameport controller

What you need to do is look in the Device Manager and try and work out what
was missing from what you had previously.

If it's a modem, you need to find drivers for the modem. If it's a gameport
controller, those drivers are usually part of the soundcard drivers if the
gameport is located on the soundcard, or part of the motherboard drivers if
the gameport is attached to the motherboard.
